Codeblocks beta is here!

January 31st, 2008 | Category: General

A beta version of Codeblocks is now live. You can access Codeblocks by clicking the link in the way top right. It is a functionality build, not a design build - it’s fairly simplistic HTML right now, nothing fancy - but the code editor is working, along with collaborative editing and file storage. Aesthetic design is the last entry on a long list of priorities.

Additionally, a few people looking to take advantage of the work in progress build found it funny to spam the script with “Sparky is Gay” files, etc. I’m forewarning everyone now that any misusers of the script will be reported to their ISP, as the spammer mentioned above already has. This may seem like an idle threat, but kindly be reminded that as a web host, almost all ISPs take our complaints very seriously, and we have had about 20 people disconnected due to previous abuse.

On a lighter side of things, I’ll be adding syntax highlighting for C++, ColdFusion and LUA sometime this week. PHP and JavaScript debugging are also on the way. Please post comments with any suggestions you may have!
